La tradicional bajada de antorchas sobre el cerro Krund de Ushuaia, uno de los eventos más característicos del invierno fueguino, se realizó este atardecer como una forma de recibimiento simbólico de la temporada, con esquiadores profesionales que se deslizaron desde lo más alto de esa montaña vecina a la ciudad.
Si bien la temporada turística ya estaba inaugurada desde el 2 de julio, tanto las autoridades del Instituto Fueguino de Turismo (Infuetur) como los propietarios de Cerro Castor el complejo invernal donde se lleva a cabo el evento programaron la bajada para hoy, bajo la denominación Fiesta del Invierno Fan de la Nieve 2021 .
