EVER wondered where the biggest hotspots for litter is in Winsford? Well, we asked one of the members of the Winsford Litter Project – a group of volunteers who helped keep the area clean – to lend us a hand in finding out where the notable points for littering are. “There are many, many hotspots around Winsford with repeated picks needed weekly or even more frequently to keep on top of things,” said Geraint James Emes, a member of the group since the first lockdown. The old High Street “The old High Street is often poor, together with the area around the roundabout. This area is picked at least twice a week by Pauline and Colin. Fly-tipping is not uncommon.”

Litter pickers clean up town and put pride back into Winsford

Winsford Litter Project is mounting a giant litter pick over the Bank Holiday weekend. Steve Edwards, founder of The Winsford Litter Project, said: The idea behind it is to try and get everyone to spend just 10 minutes anytime this weekend to tidy up the the litter outside their house. We want to inject a bit of love into Winsford. Let s make it a clean town. Residents across the town have been collecting litter for years as they go for a daily walk or exercise their dogs. Steve, who lives near The Flashes, decided to coordinate this valiant community effort. The project, launched a year ago, has already attracted almost 500 volunteers transformed grotspots across the town.
