THIS is what Winsford could look like after a £21 million regeneration. A vision of the future where people can meet with friends and family to eat, drink, socialise and shop has been revealed. Modern shops to attract big brands, a new market, toilets and space for events and activities are part of ambitious regeneration plans funded with £10 million from the Government s Future High Streets Fund and £11 million from the council. Designs are still at an early stage and some elements are undecided.

CREATIVE photographers are being given an exciting challenge. Winsford s French twin town Deuil-la-barre is holding a nature exhibition and has invited residents here to take part. The celebration, La Fete de la Nature, takes place on Thursday, May 6. The exhibition will focus on magnificent trees and will display pictures captured by people living in France and England. Cllr Lyndsay Barwell, chairman of the open spaces committee, said: I m looking forward to seeing magnificent trees from Deuil-la-barre and sharing ours. My personal favourite is Winsford s willow trees. Everyone is welcome to take part in the photography competition. Deputy mayor of Winsford Cllr Nathan Pardoe said: “It s great to see our twin town, Deuil-la-Barre, reach out and ask Winsford residents to get involved in their tree exhibition.
