Brisbane Roar equals biggest-ever W-League win with 6-0 thumping of Melbourne Victory

Brisbane Roar W-League coach Jake Goodship paid credit to his players for continuing to believe after a run of four successive draws ended in emphatic fashion on Friday night.

W-League report: Brisbane 6-0 Victory

Summary Roar opened the scoring midway through the first half through Mariel Hecher. Former Victory player Emily Gielnik played a low driven cross into the box, finding Hecher who was able to tap the ball home. On 39 minutes, Tameka Yallop doubled the lead for the hosts in spectacular fashion, curling a shot from well outside the box past Gaby Garton. Yallop s goal came just a minute after Garton denied Olivia Chance with an impressive full-stretch diving save. Victory started the second half in promising fashion, when Melina Ayres rattled the crossbar with a powerful strike from inside the area in the 47th minute.
