Cody Whitaker announces candidacy for BESE District 4 seat CODY WHITAKER Cody Whitaker, of Winnfield officially qualified for the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, District 4 seat for the March 20th special election.     Cody Whitaker is a 4th grade ELA and Social Studies teacher for the Winn Parish School Board system. In this role, Whitaker works to educate students and immerse them in the foundations needed to become productive and sustainable citizens. “Watching students achieve their very best is what makes teaching so special,” stated Whitaker. “I truly have a passion for teaching reading. It is such a rewarding feeling when you see a child who has been struggling, finally reach their goal.” Whitaker teaches at the same elementary school that he attended in the mid-90’s.
