Right on schedule, Microsoft today released Windows 10 Insider Preview build 21359. You might recall that last week, the firm switched over to the co release branch, so unsurprisingly, there isn t much in the way of new features in this build.
There are some minor things though. For one thing, there s a new option to restart apps after signing in, which will appear in the Power menu. Also, you can t upload new activity to Timeline anymore, so you ll need to use OneDrive or Office to view recent files; indeed, Microsoft seems to be killing off Timeline.
Microsoft releases Windows 10 Build 21359 with changes, improvements and fixes
It’s Wednesday, so that usually means a new Windows 10 build for Insiders on the Dev Channel, and this week is no exception.
There aren’t any major new features in Build 21359, but there are quite a few changes and improvements to report.
The main changes are:
Microsoft has added an option under the Power menu on the Start menu to restart apps after signing in when you reboot your device. When this setting is checked, it toggles the option under Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options > Restart apps Microsoft introduced in 20H1.

If you have your activity history synced across your devices through your Microsoft account (MSA), you’ll no longer have the option to upload new activity in Timeline. AAD-connected accounts won’t be impacted. To view web history, Edge and other browsers have the option to look back at recent web activities. You can also view recently used files using OneDrive and Office.

Microsoft has finally finally dropped a new build for Insiders in the Dev Channel, introducing some much-needed improvements and features. The Windows development team noted that starting with today’s build, the name of the branch these builds are being released from will change to CO RELEASE from the RS PRERELEASE. However, this doesn t mean any changes for Insiders since these builds will be treated like the RS PRERELEASE branch builds. As our engineers work in development cycles internally, we may prioritize work being done in a specific branch and may need to move Insiders between branches, Brandon LeBlanc wrote in today s blog post. We are treating these builds the same as we would treat builds from the RS PRERELEASE branch.
