Holland s Tulip Time festival returns this year with crowds

Holland’s Tulip Time festival returns this year with crowds Updated May 07, 2021; HOLLAND, MI – After last year’s Tulip Time festival was canceled due to COVID-19, crowds are back to take part in the annual celebration of Dutch heritage. Traditional events like the parades and Dutch dance performances aren’t being held, but there is a lineup of scaled-back events that comply with COVID-19 gathering restrictions. “We took it upon ourselves to kind of immerse all you visitors into how you can experience a little bit of Tulip Time all in one spot,” said Jenn Ryckbost who is the Dutch Costume Exhibit and Dutch Market event coordinator at Holland Civic Center Place. “We have posters exhibited. We have all of our Dutch costumes. It’s the only place you can see them this year, because there is no dancing this year, unfortunately.”

First weekend of Tulip Time a hit, despite virus

First weekend of Tulip Time a hit, despite virus HOLLAND Despite concerns that the COVID-19 pandemic and a pared down schedule of events would keep people from coming to Holland to see the tulips this year, Holland s hotel rooms sold out the first weekend of Tulip Time and visitors flocked to the city.  I was totally thrilled with the number of people who were here in town taking in all of the Tulip Time activities and honestly floored that there were so many people in town, said Gwen Auwerda, Tulip Time s executive director. It was beyond my expectations. Every single one of our events was sold out Saturday and Sunday.
