Groton Groton Utilities has issued a boil water advisory for portions of Groton until at least Sunday due to a damaged water main located on Route 12 in front of a KFC restaurant. The damage was repaired, all water services have been restored but portions of Groton are under Boil Water Advisory until our lab personnel have run tests for bacteria in the water, Groton Utilities said in a notice. These tests take 24 hours.
The boil water advisory affects the Groton Square Shopping Center and surrounding area, Winding Hollow, Pamela Avenue neighborhood, Winthrop Drive neighborhood, Wayne Road neighborhood and all points in between. That includes all customers north of Clarence B. Sharp highway through Groton Square Shopping Center area.
