New Fishrot accused denied bail
PHILLIPUS Mwapopi, 34, and Otniel Shuundifonya, 35 – the two additional men implicated in the Fishrot corruption scandal will spend Christmas in custody after they were denied bail during their first appearance in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court.
The two men were taken into custody after they handed themselves over to investigators of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in the presence of their legal representative earlier on Monday.
The progress made with the investigation into the matter prompted Prosecutor General, Martha Imalwa, to direct that the two men must also be arrested and charged.
A third suspect, lawyer Marén De Klerk, who reportedly checked himself into a mental asylum in South Africa in January this year must still be arrested.
