Feral Animal Control Underway in Budj Bim An aerial shooting program to control feral animals is being undertaken this week in the World Heritage listed Budj Bim Cultural Landscape, including parts of the National Park and the Indigenous Protected Areas. Helicopters will be used to target deer and feral pigs that are negatively impacting fire affected parts of the Budj Bim Cultural Landscape. The program is part of a broader integrated pest control project being implemented by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, Gunditj Mirring Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation, Parks Victoria and Winda-Mara Aboriginal Corporation in response to the 2019-20 bushfire.

Date Time Greater Grants Round Two ready to launch in 2021 The second round of Council’s Greater Grants Program for 2020/21 will open early next year. Local groups and individuals are being encouraged to start thinking about projects that may benefit the community, particularly initiatives to help strengthen and reconnect after a challenging year. Grant applications officially open at 9:00am on 18 January 2021 and close at 4:00pm 19 February 2021. Mayor Cr. Bruach Colliton said Council is pleased to be able to offer funding to community groups across a broad range of grant categories including Community Infrastructure, Arts and Cultural Development, Community Strengthening, Tourism and Events, Environmental Sustainability, and Heritage.
