They might be kept waiting for announcements on up to £50m worth of funding for major schemes until January. Swindon Borough Council has submitted ambitious £25m bids to two separate government funds – the Towns Fund and the Future High Streets. The Future High Streets fund money would be used to create a bus boulevard in Fleming Way as part of the regeneration of the area. The Towns Fund money is earmarked for seven projects, including fitting out the Carriage Works for Create Studios, a new use for the Brunel Centre tented market, regenerating the David Murray John tower, work on the Health Hydro and enabling work at the Kimmerfields development.
