Telemundo´s apparent “ownership” of the tragic story of Wilton Gutiérrez, a 10-year-old Nicaraguan migrant found alone and terrified by a Border Patrol agent in the Texas desert on April 1st, seems to give the NBC sister station the right to judge, intrude and insert their politics into private, parent-child relationships in their quest for a major story a la Elián González.

CNN spoke with uncle of Nicaraguan boy found alone on the southern US border (father denies kid was kidnapped)
CNN spoke with the uncle of the Nicaraguan boy found alone on the southern US border. In Miami, an uncle of the Nicaraguan boy who was found on the southern border of the United States walking alone told CNN that he spoke permanently with his sister during the journey that began on February 7 with her nephew. He said that they were both kidnapped in Mexico, that he paid a ransom for the child and that from that moment on he lost contact with his sister. CNN has not been able to corroborate exactly what happened in the case. Lázaro Gutiérrez, father of the minor and who lives in Nicaragua, denies any type of accusation. He assured CNN that Meylin Obregón, her ex-partner, decided to travel with her son to the United States of her own free will, something with which he agreed. Ana María Mejía has the details for us.
