Protected civil rights writ large. So this is going to require a longterm bipartisan commitment. But not just from us in washington but folks in the state capitals, city halls, and Police Departments across the country. Because ultimately its the local officials that have the responsibility to hire and fire the police chief, to make sure that bad Police Officers are removed from the force. And thats where the nearterm responsibility needs to lie, because we dont have that capability here. But we do believe, i do believe there are concrete steps we can take right now to address the racial injustices that were exposed once again with the death of mr. Floyd. She has worked for the misery Civil War Museum in st. Louis, the American Battlefield trust, and the Gettysburg College special collections. She currently serves on the board of directors for the marine scholarship foundation. She is working on her first book in the emerging civil war series on the battle of wills and creek. Recently shes presented her research at civil war roundtables and historical groups in california and across the nation including the National Museum of civil war medicine. Her first nonfiction history book released in spring 2019 call out the cadets takes a fresh look at the battle of new mark. In previous years shes published three historical Fiction Books in order to make details more accessible to audiences outside the history field, currently working on several Civil War Research projects including the citizens and armies in the virginia Shenandoah Valley. As you heard last night shes a crucial part of our team. She manages our website, she provides a lot of the content, she edits our work, edits some of our box and she has a fulltime job and she lives in california. We are grateful to sarah. Louis, missouri to the hotel which is just downtown at one of the Nicest Hotels in the 20th century. Six of the most important early world early World Leaders met there. You have Nathaniel Lyon, his aid e, francis p. Blair, and for the secessionist leaders, you have major Clayborn Jackson, governor jacksons aide. They come to keep the peace if possible. They are there to prevent the outbreak of war in mi
