After a major spike in January, Chemung County s COVID-19 cases have plunged to their lowest level since early September.
The news comes amid promises that the supply of vaccines to fight the virus will be ramped up over the coming weeks.
As of Wednesday, Chemung County has 10 active cases, including seven newly confirmed positives, and 13 people hospitalized with the virus.
On Jan. 16, the county reported 85 new cases that day alone and 258 active cases. By Feb. 11, the number of active cases had plunged to 66. We re down to among the best numbers in the state.
