Drew Estate Announces Undercrown 10
During a live Facebook event on Thursday night, Drew Estate announced that it will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of its Undercrown line with a new cigar called Undercrown Ten.
The blend features a Mexican San Andrés dark wrapper, a Connecticut River Valley broadleaf binder and Nicaraguan fillers. Willy Herrera, Drew Estate’s master blender, described the flavor profile as being like Mexican hot chocolate, saying it offers richness, sweetness and spiciness.
It is being offered in five sizes, the first four of which will be core vitolas:
Undercrown 10 Robusto (5 x 50) $11.75 (Box of 20, $235)
Undercrown 10 Toro (6 x 52) $12 (Box of 20, $240)
Herrera Estelí Limited Edition Lanceros Returning This Summer
Another round of Herrera Estelí Lanceros will be arriving on the shelves of Drew Diplomat Program retailers this summer.
Today, the company announced that the Herrera Estelí Connecticut Broadleaf Lancero is scheduled to begin shipping in June, while the Herrera Estelí Habano Lancero will be available in August. Both cigars measure 7 x 38 and are offered in 15-count boxes with an MSRP of $194.24, or about $12.95 per cigar.
“Lanceros are certainly not as popular as large ring gauge cigars, but they have a cult following amongst the most educated cigar geeks who love majestic capa leaf, what I call the ‘oro’ of the plant,” said Jonathan Drew via a press release. “Everyone knows that Willy blends spectacular lanceros.”
Drew Estate’s Barn Smoker events will return in 2021.
After canceling its events last year due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, the company has announced the Barn Smokers will return with a few changes for 2021. The two most notable changes are that the Connecticut and Florida Barn Smokers which the company says are its most well-attended events will be spread over two days in order to reduce the total number of people on the farm each day. Additionally, the company is not hosting events in Louisana and Pennsylvania, which it has done in prior years.
