Willowton Group, a leader within South Africa’s FMCG sector and Africa’s leading edible oil processor, yesterday presented international charity organisation, Gift of the Givers, with a R1.5-million donation to assist in the fight against the second wave of Covid-19 in South Africa. Speaking at the presentation today at the Pietermaritzburg head office of the Gift of the Givers, Willowton Group CSR manager, Ismat Mahomed, explained that the donation would be used to purchase urgently needed HFNO machines.

The Willowton Group recently donated R1,250,000 to Gift of the Givers to assist in the provision of 5,000 PPE packs and 1,000 theatre scrub sets in support of frontline healthcare workers and volunteers fighting Covid-19 in the Eastern Cape. The Willowton Group has donated more than 1.2 million Rand to provide 5,000 PPE packs and 1,000 theatre scrub sets to NGO Gift of the Givers, to assist in the fight against COVID-19 in the Eastern Cape. The Eastern Cape metro was declared a hot spot when the infection rate flared up two months ago. The Eastern Cape government says the average daily infection rate has shown a strong decrease since the beginning of December.
