City Line Towing owner Jason Butler has been trying to get permission from the city of Willmar to use for business purposes city-owned land under the First Street bridge that goes over U.S. Highway 12 and the railroad tracks. He has not been successful.
The city of Willmar is starting to plan how it wants to spend its American Rescue Plan Act dollars. City Administrator Leslie Valiant presented a few options at the last City Council meeting, though there were some concerns from members on the council.
A traffic study paid for by RDC Development has allegedly shown no reason for a proposed traffic signal at Kandiyohi County Road 5 and Willmar Avenue Southwest. The developer was requesting the city pay for the light to help control the increased traffic that the developer believes will come from the logistics facility it is building in the Willmar Industrial Park.
