SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - After spending months in the hospital, a COVID-19 patient has finally left the Willis-Knighton Medical Center.
Terry Roberson, of Haughton, has spent the last 99 days in COVID ICU, followed by 73 days in the critical care unit on an ECMO machine.
Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is used in critical situations to help the heart and lungs heal. It pumps and supplies oxygen to the patient’s blood from outside his or her body.
