Former president Jacob Zuma's claim that he will not receive a fair criminal trial because of lead prosecutor Advocate Billy Downer's alleged lack of independence is speculative, the National Prosecuting Authority argued on Monday.
The Pietermaritzburg High Court has heard former president, Jacob Zuma has no right to apply for leave to appeal to the Supreme Court of Appeal over the dismissal of the special plea application unless he has been convicted and sentenced in his corruption matter.
