The city invested more than 30 million in the Park Improvement this is the last several years including not just civic center, south park and we have upcoming work at the Sergeant Mccoy playground and the mini park. They were opened in honor of may your lee. I was mayor lee. I was with them when we showed him the design. He was so excited but he said when he looked at it, he said this looks amazing. What if there were some lights. That embarked a very ambitious lighting element to these playgrounds which you saw part of last night. I was convinced by statements from staff that were going to have a grant writer and the staff has rewriten it to give us that. We say we want a grant writer because we want a grant writer which i find confusing and im sure the Mayors Office and board of supervisors who are the final vote on this probably thinks this is confusing for them to absorb what were saying too. Issues around the bay area. Good morning to both of you. At last check, pg e had 1800 homes and businesses without power and many of them right here in San Francisco. I will show you the scene behind me here because you have crews busy trying to restore power here at 35th avenue and walwona in San Francisco because of a downed line here. We are told that for some customers, around the bay area, the power may not be restored until this afternoon. Of course, these widespread outages were caused by last nights powerful thunderstorms. Lightning lit up the skies around San Francisco and many other cities. The National Weather service says there were roughly 1000 cloudtoground strikes reported across the bay area last night. Of course, these norms caused a variety of problems near Golden Gate Park. Lightning hit a tree which then fell on to a parked car at 25th near fulton. Thankfully, nobody was hurt there. Power outages. Alex savidge is in San Francisco now. Tell us more about the Power Outages. Reporter well, last nights light show fun to watch. Now a lot of people waking up in the dark across the bay area because of the storms. At last check, about 1800 homes and businesses without power. A lot of them right here in San Francisco where we are this morning. Were out in the sunset district. And you can see this particular outage is here near the intersection of 35th avenue. And crews have been out here since last night, working hard to get the power back on for this neighborhood after lightning took down one of the power lines on the street at about 9 30 or so last night. People in this neighborhood, they pulled out the flashlights this morning to get ready for work or for school with no lights. All of these outages, various outages across the bay area were caused by last nights thunderstorms. You see that lightning lit up the San Francisco skyline and lightning reported all over the bay
