The Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington has announced it will be honoring Anthony Fauci According to the school’s announcement, the award, also dubbed the Ryan White Distinguished Leadership Award, honors recipients for their contributions to HIV/AIDS prevention “and for being an exemplary bearer of the standard of excellence and commitment needed to combat HIV/AIDS.” The award was named for the Indiana teen, Ryan White, whose fight against discrimination targeting people living with HIV/AIDS after he was denied admittance to school following his diagnosis garnered national attention in the 1980s.    ADVERTISEMENT Jeanne White-Ginder, White’s mother, Joycelyn Elders, Greg Louganis, and C. Everett Koop are among past recipients for the reward.
