Lt. j.g. William "Bill" Collins Jr. was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star for his service during the Vietnam War. From November 1967 to July 1968, he conducted 120 combat patrols in shallow and hazardous waters, and was involved in 38 firefights.
Eleven RIT alumni have been awarded Distinguished Alumni Awards for the 2022-2023 year.
