Two Mahoning Valley men appeared before federal judges this week answering to gun charges.
David Lee Owens III, 26, whose last known address was in Compass West Apartments in Austintown, pleaded guilty Thursday to a federal charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Owens, a former Warren resident, entered a guilty plea before federal Judge Pamela A. Barker, who ordered the defendant undergo a background report prior to sentencing, which is scheduled for 9 a.m. June 10.
The defendant remained in custody, according to court reports.
The case stems from an Aug. 2, 2020, incident involving a vehicle Owens was driving, being chased by the Ohio State Highway Patrol into the city of Warren.
