A two-vehicle accident in Fulton County resulted in three people being injured Thursday. At around 9:48 in the morning, a green Chevrolet pickup truck driven by 50-year-old William Wert of Marietta, Illinois, was eastbound on Illinois Route 95. That vehicle was stopped at a construction zone by an Illinois Department of Transportation flagger when a second Chevrolet pickup, this one green in color, struck its rear after failing to reduce speed. Wert sustained unknown injuries and was taken via helicopter to an area hospital. The passenger in the green pickup, 30-year-old Douglas Mayberry, also of Marietta, was transported by ambulance to a hospital. 57-year-old Steven Haskins of Tennessee, Illinois, the driver of the red Chevy, was also injured and taken to the hospital. Charges are expected as the investigation is pending with the Illinois State Police.
