A west Alabama man earlier accused of falsifying his military record now faces theft charges after investigators say he took money from a veterans group.
William Travis Tucker, 43, of Florence, has now been indicted by a Colbert County grand jury for first degree theft of property. Tucker is accused of stealing $3,000 from the Wounded Warrior Project.
The charge is related to an fundraising event for the group, which offers programs and serves wounded veterans of the U.S. military’s action following the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
