Catholic leaders in East Jerusalem in the occupied West Bank compared Gaza's suffering to the crucifixion of Jesus in an Easter message as Protestant leaders also decried Israel's continuing war.
A delegation of Christian leaders from around the globe spent Christmas in Bethlehem in a demonstration of solidarity with Palestinian Christians and citizens of the Gaza Strip. The group included the eminent cleric Frank Chikane and the writer, Jimi Matthews.
“After this war, I fear there will be no more Christians in Gaza after a continuous presence of more than 18 centuries,” Bishop William Shomali said in an exclusive interview.
