Raleigh, N.C. N.C. High School Athletic Association Commissioner Que Tucker spent more than two hours answering questions from state lawmakers about several topics related to high school sports in North Carolina.
The hearing was the first held by the Subcommittee on Interscholastic Athletics, a new subcommittee formed this week to investigate the NCHSAA.
Legislators spent a large portion of the hearing asking questions about the NCHSAA s financial situation.
A presentation by Sen. Vickie Sawyer (R-Iredell) included previously confidential information from the association. It revealed that the NCHSAA s total assets, more than $41 million, outpace all other state associations in the country. It is more than double the Iowa High School Athletic Association, w
