The family of a teen fatally shot hours after graduating high school called on city officials and law enforcement Wednesday to do more to solve her murder and address Jackson s growing crime rate.
Roughly two dozen people gathered on the Jackson Police Department headquarters steps to listen to the family s pleas less than 24 hours after Kennedy Hobbs murder.
According to the Associated Press, Hobbs was shot three times at a Texaco gas station on Medgar Evers Boulevard in Jackson Tuesday night and died at the scene. The 18-year-old graduated with honors from Murrah High School earlier that evening and was on her way to a graduation party, according to the report.
