committee picked up the nomination of william laplant. they raised questions about the overuse and abuse of this control of classified label that is on everything but toilet paper. you were cleared to see classified and cui. i need to ask you, is it your view that this label is being overused and abused and the senate committee has a point? what i could tell you, cui has a purpose. i don t think i don t see that purpose going away. we have an obligation to protect information that could give our adversaries an advantage. you and i talked about this a lot. it s a balance. i m not going to stand up here and proclaim that we get that balance right every time. we don t.
protective? i have no of no review. mr. laplant has not been confirmed yet. so i don t know if has that kind of planning. two things on the suicide independent review commission. how are the bases that will be visited chosen? looks like there s three in alaska and the others are more spread out. who is the department looking to put on this commission from what background and experience. great question. just in the initial list. ultimately the secretary made these decisions. he was advised about this from talking to the senior service leadership about the challenges they re having by the chairman, general milley and policy, particularly personnel and readiness. it was a team effort to come up with this list. and it made it s the initial installations. doesn t have to be the end-all list here. you had another one.
