inspects its entire fleet of 757s. united took the fleet out of service after a maintenance check on the onboard computers. the company had little choice. reporter: united insists it is not technically grounding its 757s. but it will cycle every single one of the jets through a maintenance check, to make sure the key computer changes were done correctly. what does it mean for passengers? if you re booked on one of the 757s, there s a good chance that your flight will be delayed, and possibly even canceled. united says it expects to vaul the inspections done by this afternoon or even sooner. u.s. and mexican authorities are now searching for a motive and suspects on a deadly attack on a pair of law enforcement agents. they were driving through northern mexico yesterday, when they came to a roadblock. and that s where gunmen who may be linked to mexican drug cartels then opened fire. one agent was killed, the other wounded. we ll have a live update from mexico city late

united says to expect delays and cancellations. michael herzenberg is in washington with more on this. good morning, michael. seems like passengers are going to have to take some patience today. reporter: that s right, betty. you could say united airlines is being pro-active, and that it was remiss. whatever word you choose, passengers may wish they chose a different airline to fly this morning. some united airlines passengers could find themselves in a temporary holding pattern this morning. i didn t know anything, i came to the airport a few hours ago, all i saw was my flight was delayed. reporter: the carrier temporarily grounded its fleet of boeing 757s late tuesday after discovering it hadn t completed mandatory inspections on the flight data computers. the equipment which measures everything from air speed to air pressure was updated following faa orders back in 2004. united airlines is self-policing at this point. they determined a problem and determined probab
