Special counsel david weiss recently elevated to that role, brought this case tied to a 2018 firearm purchase, and were expecting the president to speak at any moment. That was previously scheduled. As he becomes the first sitting president to have his child indicted by the Justice Department, but thats not the only reason this is extraordinary. A few months ago this gun case was literally minutes away from being resolved, but the plea deal collapsed in court in front of a judge before questions from a judge, and this could mean a hunter biden trial in the middle of his fathers president ial election bid.
