It came down to overtime in game four of the 1979 quarterfinals between the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Boos came down from the stands in Maple Leaf Gardens as the Buds were forced to kill off a penalty.
Down 3-0 in the series against the eventual Stanley Cup champions, the Habs moved into the zone on the power play. Jacques Lemaire, Yvon Lambert, Guy LaFleur, Larry Robinson and Guy Lapointe were on the ice.
Lapointe came into the zone. Boos still echoing down to the ice. Lapointe shuffled the puck over to Robinson and from the point, the defenceman ripped a slap shot past Leafs netminder Paul Harrison. The Habs swept the Leafs. That folks, was the last time the Habs and Leafs played each other in the playoffs.
