The Waterville Public Library will launch its Waterville Seed Library Monday, April 12.
This free public resource features 12 different varieties, including tomato, pumpkin, summer lettuce mix and green beans. Beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, and while supplies last, orders for seeds can be placed via a form at https://sites.google.com/view/watervilleseedlibrary/ or by calling the library at 207-872-5433.
To enhance the opportunity for others to access this resource, seed requests are limited to 10 packets or less per grower. Growers will be notified by email or phone when seed orders have been filled and are available for pick up through Library To Go at the Waterville Public Library.

For those passingly familiar with the term
permaculture, it’s usually categorized as a gardening technique, a system often associated with raised beds. However, for practitioners in the movement, permaculture is far more than this. It’s not just raised beds, nor does it always use raised beds. For that matter, it’s not just gardening.
Permaculture, they say, is a design science, and the techniques not only revolutionize the way we grow food but also reimagine how we might live in cooperation with the natural systems upon which our lives rely. The ideas behind permaculture push beyond sustainability the current systems have already done their damage and into full-fledged planetary restoration.
