AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - On Jan. 5 2021 former Amarillo Sandie Max Maxfield earned the Blair Cherry Memorial Award.
The other nomineeâs were Palo Duroâs Chris Thorton, Will Baxter from Tascosa High School, and Fabian Morales out of Caprock High School. The nomineeâs were chosen because of their work ethic on and off of the football field.
Maxfield was among the outstanding athleteâs nominated for the award, in addition to winning he also received a city proclamation declaring Jan. 5 of every year âMax Maxfield Day.â
