The Citizen Protection Office (OPC), an independent National Institution for the promotion and protection of Human Rights, condemns the assassination of journalists Wilguens Louissaint and Amady John Wesley in Laboule 12 on Thursday, January 6.
“The bullets were flying thick and fast,” said Wilmann Vil, the sole survivor of a recent gang attack that killed two fellow Haitian journalists just outside Haiti’s capital of Port-au-Prince. Vil himself has gone into hiding, fearful that the criminal gang, one of several terrorising Haiti’s capital city, might find him.
