The Norfolk Police Department announced Tuesday that officers had arrested four men after investigating a deadly shooting from March 17. Early that morning, responders were sent to the 600 block of Wiley Drive to help someone who had reportedly been shot. Eddie M. Jenkins, 31, was seriously injured, and declared dead at the scene. The first day of the investigation into Jenkins death, Curtis E. Copeland, 19, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He was sent to the Norfolk City Jail without bond.

On March 17 around 12:55 a.m., police responded to a home in the 600 block of Wiley Drive for the report of a gunshot victim. When officers arrived on scene, they found 31-year-old Eddie M. Jenkins of Norfolk suffering from a gunshot wound. Jenkins was pronounced deceased at the scene. As the investigation continued, detectives have charged three more men - 18-year-old Markell T. Scott; 18-year-old William Gainer and 19-year-old Raevon K. Gordon, all of Norfolk - each with conspiracy and use of a firearm.

and last updated 2021-03-17 22:24:31-04 Officers found a deceased man on scene and later identified him as 31-year-old Eddie Jenkins. Police said Jenkins was suffering from a gunshot wound inside of a home. Jenkins was pronounced dead at the scene. As a result of the investigation, 19-year-old Curtis E. Copeland was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm. Detectives have not released the motive or circumstances surrounding this homicide. Copeland is currently being held in the Norfolk City Jail with no bond.
