From Facebook posts and YouTube videos to the Nextdoor app, the steady stream of chatter about “coywolf” sightings suggests that coywolves are a special breed. Even a petition to save a Dutchess County forest from a planned quarry expansion included a desperate plea to spare a local celebrity, Goliath, “a massive, rare Coywolf” who is “adored by the community due to his majestic and mysterious attributes.”
