AUBURN — An Ohio man who was arrested in December in connection with a string of vehicle thefts and home invasions now faces additional charges in the case. Nicholas Larkin, 37, of Defiance, Ohio, was arrested on preliminary charges of burglary with a deadly weapon, a Level 2 felony, and auto theft, a Level 6 felony. On Tuesday, DeKalb County Judge Monte Brown granted a request from DeKalb County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Neal Blythe to add seven more charges: resisting law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor; theft, a Level 6 felony; robbery resulting in bodily injury, a Level 3 felony; theft, a Class A misdemeanor; attempted burglary, a Level 4 felony; resisting law enforcement, a Level 6 felony; and theft, a Level 6 felony.

Defiance man charged in string of home invasions, vehicle thefts The Journal Gazette A Defiance, Ohio, man is in custody today in connection with a string of home invasions and vehicle thefts in DeKalb County Monday night, Indiana State Police said today. Around 6:45 p.m., DeKalb County sheriff deputies were called to a home invasion in the 4000 block of Wilderness Court in Waterloo, state police at Fort Wayne said in a statement. The victim told officers that he was held at knifepoint just before a man stole a Dodge Durango. During the search for the suspect, officers found another car that had been reported stolen during an armed robbery in Williams County, Ohio, state police said.
