Traditional Mother’s Day brunch buffet spreads are still a bit of a rarity this year with local restaurants limited to 50-percent seating capacity. However, several area food businesses have come up with some creative ways to give Mom the royal treatment.
Culinary options to pamper mom with this year range from an English tea to a to-go family meal, a supper club experience to delectable sweets.
Below are the local businesses that responded to our request for specials they are preparing to help celebrate Mother’s Day, May 9.
Farmhouse Restaurant
Let’s kick things off with the only local brunch buffet I can confirm: the Farmhouse Restaurant in Harvest Market is enhancing its regular Sunday brunch buffet for a special Mother’s Day fete.
The Courier
Reservations are now being accepted for the Wildflower Walks in Elkhart. The walks will be held at 10 a.m or 2 p.m. every Saturday in April with the first starting April 3.
The final event scheduled April 24 will offer two bird walks, one at 6 a.m. and another at 4 p.m., with a combination bird and flower walk at 10 a.m. Private tours for groups of 10 or more can be arranged on other days during the spring bloom. The bird walk will once again be led by a team of fabulous birders, who helped to identify over 60 species of birds on previous walks.
