The collaboration will see three community-focused projects introduced spanning conservation and education as well as the establishment of a female-led social enterprise.  The Botswana-registered wildlife conservation not-for-profit will work alongside Xigera Safari Lodge to deliver the projects within the nearby village of Habu. Wild Entrust Africa has been working with local residents since 2014, running an integrated community development and conservation program that aims to mitigate human-wildlife conflict and reduce bushmeat hunting in the area. Southern Africa s Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area, which straddles Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe, each year experiences large scale migrations of megafauna, in particular elephants, where 50 percent of the total population of African elephants can be found.

Southern Africa’s Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area, which straddles Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe, each year experiences large scale migrations of megafauna, in particular elephants, where 50 percent of the total population of African elephants can be found. However, the area is also home to poor rural communities whose livelihoods depend on agriculture, fishing and hunting and who are not always able to meet their basic needs due, in part, to erratic rainfall and frequent droughts.
