there s always plenty at stake. to be clear, the justice department asked for a trial as early as december, which would actually be quite ambitious, for any federal case, let alone one involving classified procedures. i would think that incrementally the date of the trial gets moved forward into next year or beyond. we will have to wait and see. obviously, every hearing is significant. people will pick apart everything judge cannon does, given her history in the matter. she ruled before in a matter that was widely criticized by virtually everybody having this conversation as we talk to you right now. we will watch to see what she does and how she rolls as we go from there. the political calendar next year is front of mine for this trial date. it s rapidly approaching. that s right. in six months, we will be in the iowa caucuses. voters are going to the polls to
should have known that. paula, we are getting new information in the classified documents case, which seems to develop every day as well. what can you tell us about that? we are learning how many warrants investigators had as they conducted the investigation. they had a search warrant for mar-a-lago which they executed in august. we learned they had several other warrants for both devices and accounts. that s been really critical in gathering evidence in this investigation. remember, for something like recordings of the interviews, the former president did with journalists, all of those were regarded by his staff, were then uploaded to the cloud. that s one example of the ways that investigators were trying to access information, through devices and accounts and the physical search. a lot of ground to cover. the first hearing in this case is on tuesday. how much is at stake? are we going to learn much from that proceeding, do you think?
