The state government on Monday started paying MGNREGA workers, whose “dues” were pending with the Centre. The CM said that her government will be paying around 50 lakh MGNREGA workers.

“Karnataka should get Rs 500 crore under Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) but the Centre is not releasing it despite making a specific request,” said Karnataka Forest and Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre.
CM Patnaik also okayed the increase in compensation for permanent injury in man-animal conflict cases - in case of less than 60 % injury, the amount has been hiked to Rs 1.5 lakh and in cases of more than 60 % injury it will be Rs 2.5 lakh in damages.
