A dispersal order is in force in Sandown following ongoing anti-social behaviour in the area, including reports of youths causing damage and being racially abusive.
A woman has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A controlled drugs and resisting arrest. POLICE say they seized a large quantity of Class A drugs in Shanklin today (Tuesday) arresting a woman who violently resisted . The arrest follows concerns raised by local residents and Southern Housing Group over drug related harm and anti-social behaviour in the area. Isle of Wight Police launched Operation Wisteria a multi-agency approach to disrupting these concerns . Police sergeant Sharland said: Using police powers, and with the support of Southern Housing Group and Mick Halliday from the Isle of Wight Council, we conducted three room and person searches across both sites.
