On one of the busiest shopping weekends in the lead-up to Christmas, Wicklow residents paused and remembered their loved ones by lighting a candle and placing a ribbon on the special Memory Tree at the Bridgewater Shopping Centre in Arklow, in aid of Wicklow Hospice.
Wicklow Hospice will is preparing to host its first Light up a Life event this Sunday on December 10, and the tireless staff and volunteers have invited the whole community.
Wicklow Hospice will mark the fourth year of the Light Up A Life fundraiser by ‘planting’ their beautiful Memory Tree in the Bridgewater Shopping Centre on Saturday, November 25.
Fine Gael local representative for Wicklow, Graham Richmond, has written to Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan to press for a new shuttle bus serving Ashford and the surrounding areas to get to Wicklow Hospice.
The winner of this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the Bray & District Chamber of Commerce's Endeavour Awards 2023, Eleanor Murphy, said she was “in shock” after being honoured for her work with Bray Old Folks Association Meals On Wheels, at the ceremony on Thursday, October 26.
