Funding for the arts has been described as “steady” under the Trump administration, according to arts advocates, but now that Joe Biden will be in the White House, they are hoping for an “astronomical increase.”
Taxpayer-funded National Public Radio (NPR) reported on the push for arts funding from the Biden administration, including its own funding.
According to the Congressional Research Service (CRC), Congress appropriated $445 million to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting in 2019.
“The National Endowment for the Arts gives grants to organizations across the country from big ones like Lincoln Center and NPR to small ones like the Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture,” NPR reported.

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (TNN) - Some of Wichita Fallsâ best and youngest artists put their work on display Thursday.
These pieces were on display Thursday at the 2021 Wichita County Junior Livestock Show.
The Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Cultureâs Programs Manager Audra Lambert was a judge for photography and creative art projects at the show.
The artwork ranged from paintings, to sculptures and more.

Arts and culture make up a huge, $877 billion industry that generates more than five million jobs across the country. But the amount of federal funding for the arts is tiny when compared with smaller industries like agriculture so what are arts organizations hoping for under the Biden administration?
