Six candidates for the Texas 30th District state senate seat came to Wichita Falls Tuesday night, each trying to persuade an audience at Midwestern State University that he or she should be elected to the seat that represents Wichita Falls in Austin.
State Sen. Drew Springer said Wichita Falls should pause its plans to build Lake Ringgold and explore “other opportunities” for its future water supply.
A “striking admission” by City Manager Darron Leiker and heroic efforts by Wichita Falls to keep water flowing during the historic drought of 2010-2015 may have been decisive factors in a judge’s recommendation to reject the city’s plans to build Lake Ringgold.
