A Sedgwick County judge sentenced a Wichita woman to probation in an animal cruelty case involving a dog that was found abandoned in a dumpster.
A pit bull and boxer mix named Bowie, was found in January, 2020 inside a cage in a dumpster at an apartment complex in the 2200 block of South Oliver. Tips to Crime Stoppers led to the arrest of 27-year-old Raykesha Hardyway.
A judge sentenced Hardyway on Tuesday to 24 months on probation, and she will have to pay a little over $2,400 in restitution. The judge also said she cannot care for, possess or have control of any domestic animal.
