Escambia County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday to a welfare check on Perdido Key Beach near the 13000 block of Perdido Key Drive.
When they arrived the deputies spoke with a man who explained that he had been sitting on his condo’s balcony when he noticed a woman, later identified as Neugebauer, leave two boys on the beach by themselves while she walked out of sight.
The man said he saw Neugebauer return about 20 to 30 minutes later before leaving again, the report stated. The man told deputies that he had not seen her check on or come back for the boys for almost an hour.
The vacant Pensacola Beach property formerly occupied by Dog House Deli wasn t vacant for long.
Neomaya, a new breakfast joint run by experienced restaurant owners, will take over at 35 Via de Luna Drive in less than a month.
The restaurant is knocking out some renovations right now but has a target opening date of mid-May, according to manager Rheanna Parent. Neomaya will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner with an emphasis on breakfast and will be run by the same owners as Cafe Bistro.
In many ways, the new restaurant will serve as an extension of Cafe Bistro, which is located just a couple of doors down from its new spin-off concept.
