Oklahoma State guard Cade Cunningham, the potential No. 1 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, said Thursday he’ll forego the rest of his eligibility and begin his professional career.
Cunningham racked up accolades in his only season in college, earning All-American and Big 12 Player of the Year honors. Cunningham was also chosen as
The Athletic’s Freshman of the Year.
He averaged 20.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, shooting 40 percent from 3-point range. The freshman helped Oklahoma State to its first NCAA Tournament win since 2009, before its season ended with a loss to Oregon State in the second round.
