Views: Visits 6 Senate on Thursday at plenary went into closed session with some heads of security agencies in the country. The closed session followed the invitation of the security chiefs by the Senate, following the rising insecurity situation in the country. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Service Chiefs that were present at the meeting include the Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. Lucky Irabor, Chief of Army Staff Maj.-Gen Attahiru Ibrahim, and the Acting Inspector-General of Police (I-G), Mr Usman Baba. Also in attendance were the Directors – General, Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) Maj.-Gen Samuel Adebayo, National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Abubakar, and Department of State Services (DSS),Yusuf Magaji Bichi.
Lagos expends N20bn on Imota Rice Mill ― Commissioner

Lagos State Government has expended the sum of N20 billion out of the N25 billion initial budget for the construction of the much-awaited 32 metric tonnes per hour Imota Rice Mill in the state.
The state Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms Bisola Olusanya, disclosed this on Thursday, during a ministerial press briefing to mark the second anniversary of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration in office, held in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
The Rice Mill, which is billed to be commissioned before the end of 2021, is expected to be the largest rice production in sub-Sahara Africa.

CPC shut down restaurants, factories without health certificate in Kano

The Kano State Consumer Protection Council, KCPC has on Friday ordered the immediate closure of all restaurants, bakery homes, drinking water producing companies and other food processing companies operating in the state without health certificate.
The order was coming after expiration of a two weeks grace period issued to all concerned.
The Acting Managing Director of the Council, Hon. Dr. Baffa Babba Dan’agundi gave the order said it became pertinent in-view of a recent discovery of Hepatitis-B and other dangerous communicable diseases patients working at such restaurants and other places mentioned above.
